Pudina Rice


  1. In a pan, add 2 tsp ghee. Once hot, add 1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera), 1/2 inch cinnamon stick, 3-4 cloves and 3-4 cardamoms. Now add 2 finely chopped tomatoes, 3 finely chopped green chillies and 100g finely chopped mint leaves (pudina).

  2. Also add salt to taste, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder and 1 tsp coriander powder.

  3. Mix well and saute for 3-4 minutes. Switch off flame.

  4. In a pressure cooker, take 1 cup basmati rice. Add 2 cups water and transfer the mint and tomato mixture to this. Mix well and pressure cook on medium flame for 3 whistles.

  5. Add 1 tsp ghee and mix well.

Serve hot with potato fry and chips!
